A welcome message will appear right away each time someone joins a session. It is helpful to welcome them to your organization, explain what the ILA is for, and perhaps explain how to use it, such as holding down the big red microphone while they speak.
Customizing Your ILA
Customization options that are easy to do on the ILA yourself
Welcome Message
Common Phrase
Common Phrases are phrases or questions you can store in the ILA so you can easily access them and send them through to your guest without having to actually say anything. This is great for questions on a form, questionnaires, or instructions that need to be said a specific way every time they are given.
When adding just a couple of phrases, follow the instructions below. For more complex or lengthy projects, download the Language Customization Guide, fill it out, and send it to support@translatelive.com.
Questions and Answers
Questions and Answers will also be stored in the Common Phrase Book. You can set up a question that is sent by the host, then the guest will be given automatic answers to choose from.
Key Terms
Key Terms can be entered to help the ILA recognize specific names, acronyms, program names, etc. This greatly improves the translation accuracy of your organization’s important terms. Up to 50 terms can be added on each device.
Translation Context
Add as much context about your organization, who is using the ILA, what settings it is being used, and what type of industry you are in. The ILA will then use this information to translate words and phrases that might otherwise not be translated well.
Translation Style
Set your translation style to fit the needs of your organization, or even change it for a specific event.
Faithful: For legal and medical where exact word for word translation is imperative.
Fluid: Great for most users who want the translation to remain conversational and for the ILA to pick up the nuances of the conversation within context.
Creative: This is great for storytelling, marketing, or in classrooms such as English. This mode prioritizes tone and emotional impact.
